Fret Spacing Formula<\/h2>\n

x<\/em>n<\/em><\/sub> = x<\/em>o<\/em><\/sub>\u20142 n<\/em> \/ 12<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n

The above formula can be used to calculate the required fret spacing, where n<\/em> is the fret number, xn<\/sub><\/em> is the distance of the fret from the bridge and xo<\/sub><\/em> is the scale length.<\/p>\n

Lots of guitar making books will have tables for popular scales lengths to an accuracy greater than I could ever cut to. \tHowever, I just hate rounding errors. Also, by knowing the formula \tabove, any scale length can be created, not just the ones provided. \tThat said, here is a table for a scale length of 25″<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
